SMS QR Code Generator
An SMS QR code opens the messaging app with your number and a ready-written text, like 'JOIN' or 'BOOK'. Handy for SMS keyword campaigns, appointment requests and simple opt-ins where email is too much friction.

2 Design— optional
Looks scannable
What happens when someone scans it
The messaging app opens with your number in the recipient field and the message pre-written. The person taps send — it never sends by itself — and their normal SMS rate applies. It works offline for composing; the send needs signal like any text.

Frequently asked questions
Does the text send by itself?
No. It opens a pre-filled draft and the person taps send.
Standard message rates?
Yes — the sender pays their normal SMS rate. Say so on the poster if it matters.
Will it work abroad?
Only if you include the full country code in the number.
What should the pre-filled message say?
A short, unambiguous keyword the recipient can act on: 'BOOK', 'JOIN', 'INFO', 'MENU'. If a human reads it, a full sentence is fine too.
Can an SMS QR code be used for verification codes or 2FA?
No. It only pre-fills an outgoing message. It cannot receive or read codes. Use it for opt-ins and requests, not authentication.
Does the recipient pay to receive the text?
No, the sender pays their normal outgoing SMS rate. If that matters for a campaign, say 'standard message rates apply' on the poster.
