About QR Studio

QR Studio is a free QR code generator and design studio at freeqrstudio.in. It makes unlimited static QR codes — for links, Wi-Fi, contact cards, UPI payments, WhatsApp and more — with real design controls and a live check that the code will still scan.

Everything runs in your browser

When you type a URL, a Wi-Fi password or your phone number, that data is used to draw the QR code on your screen and nowhere else. There is no server call, no account, and no database of the codes people make. Logo and background images you add are read locally and embedded into the code — they are never transmitted. You can turn off your internet after the page loads and the generator still works.

This matters because a QR code often carries something sensitive: a guest Wi-Fi password, a payment ID, a private contact detail. On most generators that data passes through their servers. Here it does not.

Static, and free forever

The codes are static — the data is encoded directly in the pattern, so the code works forever, has unlimited scans, and can never be switched off from our side. There is no watermark and no catch. Static QR generation costs nothing to run, so it will stay free.

The trade-off is that a static code cannot be edited after printing. If you need an editable destination or scan analytics, that is a dynamic QR code, which is on the roadmap.

The scannability check

Most free generators let you make a beautiful code that does not scan — the contrast is too low, the logo is too big, the gradient is too strong. As you design, QR Studio reads the code back the way a phone camera would and warns you the moment a choice makes it unreliable. You can also verify it with your device camera before you print.

Who it is for

Small shops taking UPI payments, cafes and salons sharing guest Wi-Fi, anyone who wants a branded contact QR on a business card, and people who just need a quick link code without handing their data to a marketing company. It is built with Indian small businesses in mind — the Google Review, UPI and WhatsApp codes especially — but it works anywhere.
