What happens when someone scans it
The phone shows the link and asks to open it. One tap loads it in the browser, or in the matching app if there is one — a YouTube link opens the YouTube app, a Google Maps link opens Maps. Nothing downloads and nothing installs. Any UTM tags you add are invisible to the visitor but let your website analytics see that the QR code brought them.

Frequently asked questions
Does the QR code expire?
No. The link is encoded directly in the QR, so there is nothing on our side that can switch off. It works as long as the destination page exists.
Can I edit the link later?
Not with a static code — you would generate a new one. Editable links need a dynamic QR code, which is on our roadmap.
Is there a scan limit?
No. Static QR codes have unlimited scans and are completely free.
Will it work in print?
Yes. Download the SVG, keep a clear quiet zone around it, and print it at least 2 cm wide.
Do I need an app to scan a URL QR code?
No. Every iPhone and modern Android reads QR codes from the built-in camera. The link opens in the browser, or the matching app if one is installed.
Can a URL QR code hold a very long link?
Yes, but a long link makes a denser code that needs a larger print size. Keep the link short where you can — trim tracking junk, or use a short link.
Why does my URL QR code open a blank page or an error?
The code is fine — the destination is not. Check the URL loads in a browser, includes https://, and is not a page that blocks embedding or has since been taken down.
Is a URL QR code the same as a dynamic QR code?
No. This one is static: the link is baked in and cannot be changed. A dynamic QR code stores a short redirect you can re-point later and track — that is on our roadmap.
